Strategic Investment in AI from Salesforce: Convergence.ai and Informatica Acquired

Salesforce has taken two significant steps toward building a powerful infrastructure capable of delivering real, enterprise-level results in artificial intelligence and data management: the acquisitions of Convergence.ai and Informatica.

These acquisitions, both finalized in the first half of 2025, reflect Salesforce’s ambition not just to develop the “smartest” AI solutions, but to deliver ones that are reliable, sustainable, and built to operate in the real world.

Convergence.ai: Adaptive and Decision-Oriented AI Agents

Convergence.ai, recently acquired by Salesforce, brings cutting-edge technology that enables AI agents to adapt in real time to dynamic user interfaces, manage multi-step workflows, and perform human-like tasks with minimal friction.

This innovation will significantly enhance the flexibility and efficiency of the Agentforce platform, enabling agents to operate beyond static commands—acting instead as decision-support tools that are context-aware and integrated across multiple systems.

Informatica: A New Era in Enterprise Data Infrastructure

In a separate move, Salesforce announced its intent to acquire Informatica—an $8 billion deal that brings onboard a global leader in data integration and management. This acquisition strengthens Salesforce’s capabilities in key areas such as data integration, governance, quality, privacy, and master data management (MDM).

Informatica’s robust infrastructure will reinforce not only Agentforce but also Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau, MuleSoft, and other core platforms—enabling them to operate with a more transparent, secure, and scalable AI foundation.

AI + Data = Real Enterprise Transformation

Together, these acquisitions reveal a clear strategic direction:
Salesforce is focused not only on making AI more productive, but also on ensuring it is compatible with enterprise systems—reliable, governable, and scalable.

Convergence.ai brings adaptable, process-aware AI agents. Informatica provides the foundation of clean, governed, and context-rich data. The result is not just access to data, but intelligent systems that understand, contextualize, and act on it.

With these two acquisitions, Salesforce is positioning itself not just as an innovator, but as a provider of AI solutions that are truly operational and measurable. For enterprises, this marks a shift from AI as vision to AI as execution.
